Cezar Elisei (b. 1982) is a journalist, author, and promoter of therapeutic fasting and natural nutrition.
He graduated from the Theological Seminary in Iași, followed by studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași. He is currently studying Horticulture at the Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Life Sciences in Iași, in order to deepen his knowledge of nutrition, agriculture, and organic food production.
Journalistic Activity
Since 2005, Cezar Elisei has worked in print media for several local newspapers. He later spent 10 years as a reporter at Pro TV Iași, during which he produced over 3.500 television reports.
This journalistic experience helped him better understand social realities and the health and lifestyle challenges people face.
Interest in Literature and Lifestyle Change
His interest in literature began at an early age. In 1999, he won First Prize in the literary competition Tinere Condeie.
Writing later became a means of reflecting on his own life and on a profound personal transformation. Over time, he gave up habits he considered harmful – such as tobacco, alcohol, and sugar – and moved towards a more balanced lifestyle characterised by discipline, introspection, and a focus on health.
Editorial Activity
In March 2018, Cezar Elisei decided to leave television in order to dedicate himself to writing. He began collaborating with Meridiane Publishing, working alongside editor Adriana Nazarciuc, who supported his work on natural nutrition and fasting.
That same year, he published the book:
“My Path. The Christian Diet and Natural Nutrition”
(Meridiane Publishing, 2018)
The book was promoted through numerous conferences and media appearances. In June 2018, he appeared alongside Prof. Dr. Pavel Chirilă on Agro TV, discussing natural nutrition and its role in maintaining health.
Work in Health and Therapeutic Fasting
Since 2018, Cezar Elisei has been a member of BIO Romania Association, and since 2019 he has been affiliated with the National Health Association (USA).
In 2020, he founded the Therapeutic Fasting Association, an organisation dedicated to promoting water fasting as a method of supporting health and prevention.
The 40-Day Water Fast Experience
Between March and April 2020, Cezar Elisei undertook a 40-day water-only fast, carried out in Romania and Russia.
This experience became the foundation for his book:
“Journal of a 40-Day Therapeutic Water Fast”
The book was launched on August 2, 2020, at Trei Ierarhi Monastery in Iași.
Shortly after its release, it became a national bestseller, with 5,000 copies sold in the first 40 days.
Walking Pilgrimage Iași – Constanța
In June 2020, he completed a 10-day walking pilgrimage from Iași to Constanța, consuming only water throughout the journey. Through this experience, he sought to highlight the body’s capacity to endure and adapt during fasting.
Current Activity
Cezar Elisei currently holds conferences in various cities across Romania, where he speaks about his experience with therapeutic fasting and the role of natural nutrition in maintaining health.
He continues to work on new editorial projects focused on fasting and a healthy lifestyle.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
In 2020, Cezar Elisei, President of the Therapeutic Fasting Association, walked approximately 420 km from Iași to Constanța, consuming only water over the course of 9 days. This journey was intended to demonstrate both the body’s resilience during fasting and the human capacity for endurance and transformation. Fasting can strengthen willpower, enhance mental clarity, increase focus, and cultivate optimism. For many, it also deepens the relationship with God, offering inner resources to face life’s challenges with greater strength and clarity.
